New Year, New Mascot!

Starting in January, students will get to create a mascot to represent our school! In honor of Mr. Torellas, we will be calling him, Mr. STEAM.
Here’s how it’ll work:
Beginning January 4, students will be working with Ms. Velazquez to choose a character type for the mascot, then they will put their creativity to work and draw a potential mascot to be entered into the contest.
Two selections will be made by staff from each class, and each student will vote for a winner for their grade level. The grade level winners will be recognized with a display of their work in the school and on the school website.
The students will then vote on the 6 finalists (one per grade level). Two winners will be chosen -- one from grades K-2, and one from 3-5. These winners will have their work printed on a t-shirt, and they will each get a free t-shirt. These shirts will also be for sale for anyone else that would like one with sales benefitting the PSA’s fundraising initiatives.
The student with the most votes of all will get to work with a professional illustrator to polish their design into an official mascot drawing to be used by PS 376 in the future.
