New Year, New Mascot!

Starting in January, students will get to create a mascot to represent our school! In honor of Mr. Torellas, we will be calling him, Mr. STEAM.

Here’s how it’ll work:

  • Beginning January 4, students will be working with Ms. Velazquez to choose a character type for the mascot, then they will put their creativity to work and draw a potential mascot to be entered into the contest.

  • Two selections will be made by staff from each class, and each student will vote for a winner for their grade level. The grade level winners will be recognized with a display of their work in the school and on the school website.

  • The students will then vote on the 6 finalists (one per grade level). Two winners will be chosen -- one from grades K-2, and one from 3-5. These winners will have their work printed on a t-shirt, and they will each get a free t-shirt. These shirts will also be for sale for anyone else that would like one with sales benefitting the PSA’s fundraising initiatives.

  • The student with the most votes of all will get to work with a professional illustrator to polish their design into an official mascot drawing to be used by PS 376 in the future.
