Welcome from Natalie Perez-Hernandez, Principal of PS 376
One of the greatest strengths of PS 376 is the genuine care and collaboration shared among our staff, students, and families.
Dear PS 376 Families,
I am thrilled to welcome your child to a new year of learning and growth at PS 376! Our school community is a place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are dedicated to fostering resilience, empathy, perseverance, and the ability to communicate effectively in diverse learning partnerships, preparing our students to succeed in an ever-changing world.
Our talented teachers embed critical thinking and collaboration across all content areas and work tirelessly to meet the diverse needs of our students. Through small group instruction, the use of Thinking Maps, and meaningful, timely feedback, we aim to guide students toward academic mastery. Project-Based Learning remains central to our approach, with a special emphasis on service learning that inspires students to give back to our beautiful Bushwick, Brooklyn community.
We are committed to nurturing the emotional wellness of every child. Through lessons led by our teachers, guidance counselor, and learning specialists, students gain tools for self-regulation and emotional awareness. Programs and practices such as the Bucket Filler Program, mood meters, naming emotions, self-advocacy, and breathing exercises empower students to take ownership of their emotional responses and develop healthy coping strategies.
One of the greatest strengths of PS 376 is the genuine care and collaboration shared among our staff, students, and families. Together, we create an environment that supports learning and growth for all. I look forward to an amazing year filled with discovery, connection, and success.
