SCIENCE

Students engaged in scientific debates in the science lab.

The Environmental Design Lab is a workspace dedicated to observing, exploring and discovering features of our natural and built world. Students from grades K – 5 are exposed to environmental themes of sustainability, urban gardening, wildlife preservation, renewable energy, and conservation of natural resources. Students engage in interdisciplinary STEAM projects in which they design solutions to issues concerning the environment in the 21st century by investigating phenomena, building models, testing prototypes, and using technology to create presentations and public awareness campaigns.

A number of grant programs are implemented each school year to give students exposure to experts in the field, learn about current environmental concerns and issues, and find out how we can all have a positive impact on our own community.
